ORCA Duals information for 2012 trip

February 12, 2012 deadline for payment

We have had a good number of athletes apply for consideration for being a member of the Senior Dual Team we will be taking to California and are in the process of having interested applicants make a deposit towards the trip to. The team is still open to additional applications.  We are requesting that all wrestlers that are willing to commit to going on the March trip, and want to be part of the selection process, to place a $50 deposit using the PayPal system we have set up for credit card payments. This $50 payment says that you are committed to going on the trip and will be able to pay the remainder that will be due if you are selected to the team. Each wrestler that applies, and is not selected by the time the competition occurs, will receive a refund upon our return. If they are chosen to go on the team and then for whatever reason are unable to go, they will forfeit the $50 and that will be applied towards the group expenses. If the first member and number one alternate end up not being able to fulfill their commitment, then the second alternate is expected to go.

We will be selecting a first team member and two alternates. The alternates will also have to have paid their deposit in advance and be willing to go on short notice if something happens to the number one or number two wrestler. All payments and refunds will be processed by Dave Gilbertson through the Washington Wrestling Report account. Those who know me, know I've been around forever and I guarantee that any deposits that are due to be refunded, will be refunded.

The exact  cost of the trip is not determined at this time but is estimated to be in the $50-100 range (hopefully the $50). The wrestlers will be responsible to split the gas costs of those people driving the wrestlers to Oregon, and the housing costs. We will be staying in the SOU dorms this year at minimal costs to the team.  All funds raised through the senior dual team PayPal option will be used to offset the expenses and wrestlers will be responsible for their own food costs on the trip. We have singlets that we will have for the team to wear when competing but those were donated to the team and will be used in subsequent years.
